White Stone – by Eric
The more we get to know God, the easier it is to see that He knows us better than we know ourselves. It’s a simple truth, but one with a lot of meaning. So many times in life when we are in the midst of the storm it’s hard to see past the clouds, past the haze that blocks our view. But, thankfully, our God is bigger than the storm. In his knowledge and love for us He sees the whole picture. He sees through the storm and Romans 8:28 tells us that he works it all together for good for those who walk according to His purpose.
In the midst of the storm it can be hard to see; hard to trust. The thing that can give us confidence is when we look back at past storms in our lives. When we were in the midst of them we couldn’t see past the clouds, but looking back you can often see the purpose. You can often see why God let you go through that storm; How it grew you as a person and prepared you for other things to come.
Do you believe that God knows you in that way? Do you believe that God wants the best for you as you seek Him?
Thanks to my amazing wife, I have a jar of white stones with Revelation 2:17 posted on it. To those who are victorious in Christ, He will give a white stone with a new name written on it. A name only known to him who receives it. In Jewish culture and tradition, a name represents who you are. The very core of your being. God knows you so well that He has a name for you that only He knows at this moment. Only He knows you that well. In the coming days I am going to consider the white stones Angela put in my jar. On each there is a Bible verse and a name that God has for me as one of His children and to those who want to read, I’m going to share my thoughts on this journey and would love to hear your thoughts in response.
